Summary

from the Virginia Tech Aircraft Design Information Sources pages

One of the problems facing aircraft design students is the problem of locating information. This document includes lists of texts, reports and papers that are useful. Although lengthy, it is not encyclopedic and no claim is made about completeness. It contains material that I've selected from my own, much larger, collection. Generally the listings are given chronologically in each category.

Many annotations are included to help guide students. The division of categories was chosen to fit the natural division of material. These lists supplement the numerous other bibliographies available. Sources containing significant bibliographies are identified in these lists. Although this document contains many aerodynamics citations, the emphasis is on design, not aerodynamics. Aerodynamics references are contained in my Applied Computational Aerodynamics class notes. Suggestions for additions are welcome and encouraged. The addresses are given for hard to find companies. However, since they are small, these addresses sometimes change. The addresses listed are the last known information.

Please give credit to the VPI Aircraft Design Program and the NASA/USRA Advanced Design Program when this document is used.
