Course Catalog Description: Advanced introduction to the theory of optimal control of time-varying and time-invarient linear systems; Solutions to the linear-quadratic regulator, optimal filtering, and linear-quadratic-gaussian problems; Robustness analysis and techniques to enhance robustness of controllers.
This course is cross-listed as ECE 6744 and as ME 6544. It is typically offered in the Spring semester. Though there are no formal prerequisites, students will be expected to have a strong background in time-varying linear systems theory as presented, for exmaple, in AOE 5744. Check the Timetable of Classes for scheduled offerings and instructor assignments.
Dr. Woolsey typically teaches three courses each academic year:
AOE 5744: Nonlinear Systems Theory (Fall)
AOE 4004: Computer-Aided Control System Design (Fall)
AOE 3104: Aircraft Performance (Spring)
